Guillaume Lachapelle

(CA)

Lachapelle's current practice involves a diversity of techniques such as 3D modeling and rapid prototyping as well as lighting systems and optical illusions to create a sense of depth and infinite space confined within his sculptural works. The resulting works, which confront irrational ideas with a heightened sense of realism, are characterised by tremendous detail and industrial appearance. With a Fine Arts degree from the Université du Québec à Montréal, Lachapelle has exhibited in Canada, France, Germany, UK, and, in 2015, was part of Personnal Structures, at the Venice Biennale 2015. He is represented by Reiter Galleries, Leipzig and Art Mûr, Montreal.
