Día de los Muertos is celebrated annually on November 1 and 2 and honors the deceased with altars (ofrendas), flowers, candles, and food.
The custom blends indigenous rituals with Christian tradition and portrays death not as an end, but as a transformation and part of life—colorful and life-affirming. It has been a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2008.

In this installation, touching the canvas brings Frida’s inner life to life.

Plants embody this very idea. They grow, wither, and return again.
For Frida, this was a source of comfort.
To her, plants were a counterpoint to the suffering body.
Inspired by her garden at the “Blue House,” every brushstroke blossoms into the leaves and flowers that once surrounded Frida.
From there, it leads into a modern runway world inspired by New York’s underground scene—a place of transformation, style, and reinvention.
Between tradition and the present, various versions of Frida emerge. Not a single person, but many facets of an attitude that connects body, clothing, and culture.
The fashion show thus becomes a contemporary ritual in which indigenous patterns and forms are revitalized and translated into today’s visual language.
