Technology Meets People, Algorithms Meet Movement, Modernity Meets Ballet
Following last year’s successful world premiere, the Kunstkraftwerk Leipzig, in collaboration with the Musikalische Komödie Leipzig 2026, presents the sequel to *Volt[age]*—an immersive ballet that brings to life the interdependence between humans and technology through a unique fusion of dance, interactive visuals, and sound.
An electrifying fusion of body, code, and sound
Volt(age) breaks with traditional ballet conventions and creates an entirely new stage experience. Using motion tracking and digital projections, visual elements react in real time to the dancers’ movements—sometimes blending harmoniously, sometimes in tense opposition. The stage becomes a living interface between human and machine.
An immersive experience in a unique setting
The production combines electronic techno sounds with orchestral soundscapes, creating a hypnotic acoustic dimension that emotionally enhances the dance and the story. The choreography by Mirko Mahr, Sara Brandao, and Lolita Valau brings this dramatic unfolding to life with the dancers of the Musikalische Komödie Leipzig.
Behind the spectacular visuals and sound design is French digital artist and artistic director Nicolas Landrieux (Exhausted Lab), who is reimagining immersive art and challenging the boundaries of dance and technology with his multidisciplinary approach.
Experience this performance, where movement meets digital algorithms, creating an electrifying dialogue between humans and technology. A powerful fusion of body, code, and sound in the impressive atmosphere of the Kunstkraftwerk Leipzig.
