With TÜBKE MONUMENTAL , the KUNSTKRAFTWERK in Leipzig presents a multifaceted and innovative project:
TÜBKE MONUMENTAL is a tribute to the painter Werner Tübke (1929–2004), co-founder of the Leipzig School and creator of the largest painting in Central Europe.
His Peasants’ War panorama, *The Early Bourgeois Revolution in Germany*, measures 14 × 123 m and is still housed today at the Panorama Museum in Bad Frankenhausen.
In Leipzig, digital innovation meets a key work of German
art history. The project makes it possible with THE GREAT CIRCLE and TÜBKE TOUCH , this project offers a completely new way to experience the gigantic and complex painting.
The latest technologies are creating new ways of presenting and experiencing art, which are reestablishing Tübke’s masterpiece in the public consciousness and preserving it for future generations.
